Manager on Making Decision

Decision making includes recognizing and defining the nature of a decision situation, identifying alternatives, choosing best alternatives and putting it into practice. Through these processes, manager has to consider all the certainties, uncertainties and risks being faced. Being the manager, he needs to be optimistic as he believes that most of the problems will have their ways and policies to be solved. Sometimes, the decision is made based on intuition if the uncertainties cannot be identified, otherwise the decision will be made through the rational perspective with known certainties and risks. The manager prefers to do the major decision making through team discussion as he believes that the brain of two is better than one. The idea through the discussion will be collected by the manager as a reference for further decisions. Thus, the manager plays a vital role on leading the working team on making and implementation of decision which aiding the company to move one step towards the company goal.
The manager needs to prepare the backup plan for each decision being made for instances, if the ongoing of the new planned installation project delayed as the approval of the project postponed due to the complicated procedure, the department will continue working for the other sites which have been approved by switching the approved work forward while the halted project will be switched backward. The halted project will be carried on after being approved and will switch forward or backward according to the priority of the project.
